Free Letter R Tracing Worksheets

This beautiful version is usually used for one of two purposes. First, you can give it to your child to practice tracing the R’s inside the bubble letters. Or, second, you can place it on the wall in a classroom as a reference piece for knowing the strokes for producing the letter.

This version is an add-on to the previous one, with the added activity of tracing the outline of the rabbit (then, of course, the child can color it in!) Dot tracing images are great for children’s penmanship because it helps them practice fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

This version gives Pre-K students the chance to practice the capital and lowercase versions of the letters in very large font. Through repetition, the students can come to build muscle memory in writing the letters. If your child finds this one too easy, try the similar version with horizontal lines later on this page.

From here on, the worksheets will have horizontal handwriting practice lines to help scaffold uniformity of letter height and size. This can help prepare students for word and sentence writing. In this version, students practice uppercase and lowercase versions of the letter side-by-side to stimulate association between the two letter forms.
