Designed for very beginners, this page contains bubble letters for uppercase and lowercase E, followed by tracing of the word eagle. It also has a full-color cartoon image of an eagle.

This really fun activity introduces the letter E slowly by having students trace the letters inside large bubbles, then has students try to write over the dots to spell the word “elephant”. Finally, students can trace the dots to make a picture of an elephant that they can then color in!

This version steps students up by asking them to trace smaller letters, requiring more refined fine motor skills. They can use the bubble letters, then simple dot line tracing for Ee, then finally they practice the e words: eagle, egg, elephant, ear. I’ve also included the tracing elephant here for kids to trace once they’ve finished with the letters.

This worksheet is all about helping students to understand that words are made up of single letters. With a focus on the letter ‘E’, students write a word with the letter appearing eight times: “The eagle enjoys eating eggs every morning”.

As with the previous version, this version is all about helping students to understand that words are made up of single letters. This time, we’re looking at an elephant, and writing the phrase: “Ellie the elephant eats eleven eggs for dinner”.

While I was designing the Ellie the Elephant idea, I was inspired to try a different spatial format. I shrunk the font size a little to make space for a larger dot tracing image. Take your pick – it’s really an aesthetic preference at this point!

This version places uppercase and lowercase Ee letters alongside one another. The idea is to associate the two letters through proximal placement – students are encouraged to recognize these two letter forms as having the same semantic meaning.

This piece has progression built into the one page – going from singular use of the letter, up to its uppercase, then placing them together. Finally, students practice a full word starting with e – egg.

This piece is good for students who still need to learn to associate the capital with its lowercase. Here, students alternate between the two on alternating lines, all the while recognizing that the worksheet focuses on the same letter in different forms.

This version is all about using the letter e in the context of full words. Students write the words egg, ear, and eat – both with a lowercase and uppercase first letter. Overall, students practice writing words starting with e 12 times in one worksheet.

This version is all about practicing the letters without the guidance of the dots. While the blank handwriting lines are provided to help with keeping a consistent size, there’s a little less hand-holding here, which can help students to develop greater writing confidence and skill.

This version is all about practicing one word over and over, with the idea that repetition helps reinforce fine motor skills for the child. The word we’re focussing on here is the word “egg”.
