Number Tracing Worksheets – Free Printables

On this page you will find my entire collection of number tracing worksheets, including individual printable worksheets for numbers 0 through 10, then booklets with 1-10 and 1-20 collections within the same pages.

I have provided a range of worksheets for each number, with graduated levels of difficulty so you can differentiate instruction for your children.

Combined, these sheets model both number recognition and fine motor skill development. They act as a precursor to early numeracy proficiency, helping to prepare students for Kindergarten mathematics.

All the worksheets on these pages are designed to be printed on A4 paper in vertical (portrait) mode. However, make sure you select “shrink to fit” in order to ensure best quality output from your printer.

Differentiation

A Little Easier

Prior to number writing, students can practice number recognition through the use of worksheets. Use my extensive collection of number flashcards (free, of course!) to play number recognition and matching games.

If your child is struggling with fine motor skills during this activity, step back to dot tracing worksheets that involve tracing shapes and images, or coloring sheets where children need to color between the lines.

A Little Harder

Once students recognize numbers and can write them, they can move onto counting activities, such as counting to 20, where they need to count the objects then write the corresponding number beside or below the object cluster. Beyond this, we can move onto simple addition and subtraction.
