Free Numbers 1-10 Tracing Worksheets – 8 Versions
Version 1
Designed by Chris
In this version, students don’t have to think about the horizontal tracing lines. Instead, they focus on precision in tracing. This helps them improve fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills, all while familiarizing themselves with number structure and order.
Version 2
Designed by Chris
This large number board is very popular for Pre-K. Students trace over the faint dotted lines to learn both number shape and order.
Version 3
Designed by Chris
For this version, we’re moving onto the use of the horizontal handwriting guidelines, which help show children how numbers should be of uniform shape and size across a line of text. For added difficulty, we will remove the dotted tracing lines and only use the handwriting guidelines (later in this article).
Version 4
Designed by Chris
For this version, students can use their hands to finger count the numbers before tracing the text. This helps them understand directly what the numbers represent in real-life.
Version 5
Designed by Chris
In this version, students have repeated practice with writing the words for spelling practice. Students are provided with a model at the beginning of every line as well as the horizontal guidelines and faint dots to trace over for the words. When students master tracing the words, move onto the next worksheet (Version 6), which requires more independent writing with less assistance.
Version 6
Designed by Chris
In this version, we have removed the tracing guides but left the horizontal handwriting lines, with the intention that children will attempt to independently write the words, while still writing within the lines to maintain uniformity of size and shape.
Version 7
Designed by Chris
These final two versions demonstrate progression in skill level for handwriting, with the child first getting the option to write the numbers with the assistance of faint dots to trace (Version 7), then without the dots for more independent writing practice.
Version 8
Designed by Chris
These final two versions demonstrate progression in skill level for handwriting, with the child first getting the option to write the numbers with the assistance of faint dots to trace (Version 7), then without the dots for more independent writing practice.
