Cursive Alphabet Tracing Worksheets
Worksheet 1
Designed by Chris
This version contains six pages, covering every letter A-Z. On each line, students practice the same letter on repeat, helping to give students the muscle memory required for fluency in cursive writing. While this version is good for practicing the individual letters, make sure you pair it with one of the follow-up activities that start to introduce words with mixed letters.
Worksheet 2
Designed by Chris
This version contains six pages and focuses on practicing the uppercase and lowercase versions in cursive style. While capitals rarely flow onto their follow-up letters, some capitals can (e.g. the ‘C’ on the above image). Furthermore, students can practice the lowercase versions of each letter, with a focus on that lead-out flick that helps connect the letters.
Worksheet 3
Designed by Chris
Very similar to the above version, the only difference here is that the letters are not separated, which allowed me to fit more letters onto each line. Take your pick, as they’re both very similar.
Worksheet 4
Designed by Chris
Once students have developed confidence with each letter, we can start to remove some scaffolding. In this version, a model is provided at the beginning of each line, but students then have to finish the line by practicing the letters without dotted-letter scaffolding.
Worksheet 5
Designed by Chris
Once students have built the confidence in writing the cursive letters on their own, we need to move onto writing full cursive words. This version offers 26 pages (one per letter), and give students the chance to practice the capital and lowercase letter at the start of words. Then, I give two words where the letter is in the middle of the word, allowing students the chance to practice the lead-in and lead-out for each letter.
Worksheet 6

The famous sentence “The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog” contains every letter in the alphabet. This version is the first to give students practice writing full sentences in cursive style, all while incorporating every letter in the alphabet.
Worksheet 7

This version is a short, two-page story that I came up with, which contains every letter in the alphabet. This can give even more cursive writing practice for your child, while making sure every letter is touched upon!
