Here are some quick facts about the animals from these word searches:
- Zebras are black and white striped creatures that look like horses, and those stripes are their most identifiable physical feature. They’re herbivores and graze on grass.
- Hyenas have powerful jaws and feed on carrion, which is the meat of deceased animals that they come across.
- Rhinos are an endangered creature with a horn in the center of their face. Don’t be fooled – they’re very dangerous!
- Lions are the king of the African animals, and the males have a beautiful mane. They eat large prey like antelope and zebras.
- Cheetahs are some of the fastest land mammals on earth, and they use that speed to catch animals like small antelope.
- Giraffes are tall and elegant creatures. They’re golden with brown patches, and their most identifiable physical feature is their long neck. They use those long necks to reach acacia leaves, which is their main food source.
- Hippos have large mouths and extremely strong bites, which makes them dangerous creatures to get too close to!
- Jackals are like hyenas, feeding on small mammals that they hunt on the savannah.
- Baboons are great apes that behave remarkably like humans. They’re social creatures and their favorite meal is fruit.
- Okapis are ungulates (a bit like gazelles) but with brown with white striped legs, and their most identifiable physical feature is their zebra-like markings.
- Ostriches are black and white (males) or brown (females), and they are flightless birds. Their favorite meal is seeds and plants, and they run very fast.
- Leopards are golden with black rosettes, and their most identifiable physical feature is their beautifully spotted coat. Like cheetahs, they feed upon medium-sized prey like antelope.
- Antelopes are brown or tan ungulates, and their most identifiable physical feature is their curved horns.
- Gazelles are yet another type of ungulate, known for their elegant jumping abilities.
- Bonobos are black apes who have remarkably expressive faces which make them look wise and thoughtful. Their favorite meal is fruit.
