Use Cases for Emotions Flashcards
These flashcards can be used in a variety of ways, for a variety of purposes. Here are just a few ways you can use them:
- Emotional Literacy for Children: Perhaps the most popular use case, this involves teachers and parents using the cards to help toddlers and young children to identify, name, and understand a wide range of emotions. For example, you could play matching games, use the cards as prompts for storytelling, or use them for discussions about the various emotions. This helps children to understand emotions, how they feel, and the fact that other people have emotions, too!
- Therapy and Counseling: In therapy, these flashcards can be used to encourage clients, especially children or individuals with learning difficulties, to identify and/or communicate their complex emotions. Oftentimes, we co not or cannot immediately name our emotions. With these flashcards, client can go through the pack and find the emotion that describes their feelings.
- Special Education: For individuals with autism or other developmental challenges, emotions flashcards can aid in understanding social cues and emotional responses.
- Language Learning: New learners of English need to learn the words for the different emotions. The great thing about these cards is the words aren’t paired with the word in the student’s home language. Instead, they identify the feeling and the English word without having to anchor them to the word in another language, helping to aid in the development of fluency.
